friiiidayyyy!

sweet. friday. i needed today.

this week turned out really good. it's funny -- i'm just as busy as i was when i was doing fusab, but it's a different kind of busy... because its a bunch of little things, i have more control, i can choose what i want to do, i can enjoy what i'm doing... it's fantastic.

it's family weekend, which is fun. mom is coming up tomorrow morning, mandy's family is coming today... it's going to be wonderful. i think the best part is that i have NO idea what i'm doing tonight -- it's a free evening for funnnnnn. those never happen anymore. i'm stoked.

yesterday was really fun... after class (autism class rocks, btw..), i decided to make helmet-shaped sugar cookies (i love cookie cutters) and decorate them carolina colors.. but i forgot to reduce the butter in the recipie to make cutouts, so i quickly realized i was going to need to do something else... so i added some water, added some flour... and ended up with something with the consistency of cake batter. so i decided to make one GIANT cookie.. then i got it in my head that if i drew a BIG helmet on a paper towel and cut it out, i could trace it onto the cookie and.. viola!.. a helmet-shaped usc cookie.

so after the little disaster-turned-better cooking adventure, a bunch of us headed over to the pi kapp empathy dessert, which was wonderful... one of our campers was there, and i hadn't gotten to spend a ton of time with him during camp (he was in the all-boy more "severe" cabin, so he had his own counselor), so it was fun to just get to sit with him and hear his story. i had talked to my professor about going to do autism research in the UK this summer, and remembering camp made that idea seem really hard. we'll see.

headed out to greer to watch the usc game with cory (but if watermelon asks.. i was going to see my friend jake.) YAY CAROLINA!!! i actually looked forward to watching it.. i dont know what happened. and i looked up statistics and stuff online and read about the predictions and.. yeah.. i'm turning into a bit of a carolina nerd.

so that's the update.. same ole same ole. i'm pretty happy, too. maybe will hoge tonight? maybe charleston next weekend? maybe nashville the next weekend? who knows... :)
