Well, I made it to camp. Night one.

Mom called thismorning and left me a voicemail about how princesses don't go camping. Then she just laughed. I'm not quite sure what the voicemail meant, but it was an odd goodbye :) Couldn't expect anything less, I suppose.
The camp is beautiful... it's 170 acres of beautiful land, tucked away. There's a full put put course, hay rides, a lake with paddle boats and a pontoon boat, canteen, swingsets, places to fish, pool, arts and crafts building, fireflies, trails, waterfalls... it's really incredible.
The ride up was... liberating. There's something about leaving home and doing what I need to do, you know? I felt very independent... not really knowing where I was going, not really having a plan. I'm slowly realizing that God's plans really are better than my own. This summer will be a time when I can really be open to Him.
I'm going to miss my family and friends, but I'm ready. Let's see what He has in store!

I left home when I was seventeen
I just grew tired of falling down
And I'm sure I was told
The allure of the road
Would be all I found
And all the answers that I started with
Turned out questions in the end
So years roll on by
And just like the sky
The road never ends
And the people who love me still ask me
When are you coming back to town
And I answer quite frankly
When they stop building roads
And all God needs is gravity to hold me down
And the people who love me still ask me
When are you coming back to town
And I answer quite frankly
When they stop building roads
And there ain't no more highways to be found
And I answer quite frankly
When they stop building roads
And all God needs is gravity to hold me down
allison krauss . gravity
