golly gee its christmas for me

this break has been absolutley the most insane contrast to school i've ever experienced.

it's not that the charleston crew is too much crazier than usual -- they're not, they've always been this way.. it's just that this past fall was the first time that none of them were a big part of my every day life... so i feel like i'm coming home as a different person. and being around the people i've always known... that difference feels real.

i think i'm changing. i was talking to jessie about it yesterday.. and i'm secure enough with my life where i'm not afraid to share it, you know? i still guard my heart a whole lot and i've definately become more independent... but i'm more open with people... more open to hearing what they have to say, which i think is the base of it. i don't know, i've noticed it at home. i have this craving to hear the stories of others...

i was talking about it to a friend last night -- it's so beneficial to hear someone's story and where they want to go rather than try to capture them in a moment. we may look alike in the present, but chances are.. we aren't. beecher squared called it the theory of movement, i think... even in the present, we have to look at what a persons' feet are doing as opposed to his lips. "the lips lie, but the feet tell the truth."

::sigh::

it's just been a hell of a ride this week. a good one, i think... it's just a lot compared to my fun camper dates and no-drama friendships/relationship that beautifully filled my fall term :)

i need a nap in a hammock. actually... i really need to finish my christmas shopping. and a little present i've been working on that i absolutely MUST mail today. we'll see if that happens.

yay, christmas break.
