yay, Christmas.
it's been a wonderful day -- lots of family time, lots of down time... it's been great. and lots of time to think. i've gotten most of my to-do list done over break.. tackling the last little bits now. hopefully tomorrow i'll be done with everything i can do without the stuff that i intentionally left in greenville. tomorrow... returns, laundry, catching up with the last few people. then thursday... greenville :)
here's my thought for the day... we were made for something. like with the guilt thing that's been nagging at me all term (there's some irony, eh?)... yes, guilt comes from violating a social norm.... but why? why is it that our hearts work the way they do? we're influenced, yes, but we also influence.. there's something inside of us that interracts with the world we actively live in. and that something was created within us, so that "something" must come from God.
fr. reminded me the other day that everything God creates is good... that bad stems from the lack of God.. from the lack of good. it uplifted my heart... to think that the struggles within us are so natural, they're so engraved in who we are and who we were created to be.
it may seem like a little thing, but it was one of those big little breakthroughs that comes with time. and cait will be happy to hear this -- but i'm going to go ahead and attribute this one to the sacramental graces. so thanks, confession.
merry christmas :)
