oofie

oofie.

that's going to be my new word today. i have a feeling i'm going to be learning a lot of those at the new job... it's been awhile since i worked with the really little kiddos, and i found out today that i'm going to be splitting my time working with two little kids with autism -- a boy and a girl, both four years old (i think?)... so at 8:55 this morning, i got a call that i had training at 9am (yeah.. organization is rocky in this business).. and i've been there all day.

exam tomorrow? what?

oofie.

i just don't want to work anymore.. and i know when i slow down i'm going to fall asleep. last night was so much fun.. i finished my exam, then quickly showered and busted over to cory's school to watch their Christmas chorus concert.

the MOST adorable thing EVER.

so first of all, the kids are adorable. and for an elementary school chorus, they were actually pretty good. i remember elementary chorus... oh gosh, i learned later that my teacher was gay and he took in teenagers who were kicked out of their homes for being gay (its amazing what you learn when you get older)... but we used to put on these elaborate plays... that was my first big role -- nurse defarge in bedside manor -- i had a crush on the stage hand, he asked me to be his girlfriend in a note, but somebody intercepted it backstage and he randomly moved the next day to texas?

right.

but seriously.. i remember those shows. they were so much fun... ::sigh::. but we couldn't sing about Christmas or Jesus.. just about winter (lame, no?). it was nice to hear them singing about Christmas.. even in latin.. it was freakin awesome.

they looked up to cory, too... it was another one of those moments where i felt like the luckiest girl in the world... just for standing next to him. the choral director was getting the audience to participate, and she asked for a teacher to come up... a huge group of kids on stage immediately started pointing and screaming "mr. tonnsen! mr. tonnsen!" ... they absoluetly love him. a little white kid passed by him and said "wassup" to which cory responded "yo yo yo"... ridiculous. absolutley ridiculous. but beautiful.

so after the concert i grabbed some dinner, watched cory's basketball game.. then we headed out to the bullpen to watch the saints / falcons game. again, i love greer. or maybe its the boy / football time. maybe i miss my brothers. who knows? but it was super fun.

... did not make waking up today and busting it to work a pleasant experience, though ;)

okay, so off to work. one more exam... then i'm here until at least friday. maybe until saturday to see jessie. i want to go home, but she's going to be *so* close and i miss her *so* much... i'm coming back up really early to work and spend some christmas time with the boy and to do new years up here (and get rush stuff in order.. bleh!). it's going to be a busy break. the good news though is that when i finally get home, i have nothign to do but spend time with family and friends... a nice break from the insanity that these past breaks have been!

:) on to my hot date with freud, adler, and jung...

Mortimer Adler? If so, Jon is obsessed with him.
