i think the football players got a taste of their own medicine tonight.
you see, when i'm sleep deprived... "it all" goes down hill RAPIDLY... and today was busy. and i did it all off 5 or so hours of sleep (if that). up at 6:45, moved freshies into dorms from 8:30 - 1, ate lunch and showered, skit practices from 3-4:30, dinner and parental mingling, parent skits from 5:30 - 9ish, then skit practices from then until 11. solid day.
so when i got back to the apt to find all of my fantastic roommates and a new knife block, i knew it was clearly time for apples and peanutbutter. and the knives make me feel like a top chef. which makes me happy.
and i've ben trying REALLY hard to get to a "solid" snapping place. we do a lot of dancing on o-staff, and i look like the ridiculous white girl. i realized today it's all about confidence... when you're "getting jiggy with it," so to speak, the more attitude, the better the snap. so by the time you get past the "two snap... one snap... no snap..." (fake out)... DOUBLE SNAP, they've got to be WORKIN' it. and ladies and gentlemen, i worked it with that knife block. snapping, that is.
i think i'm losing it. i havent been this sleep deprived in foreeeever. YET i'm blogging instead of sleeping. and i still have a tres importante e-mail to write :)
tonight was amazing with the parents -- they had so many good questions, so much love.. it was rewarding to see what my parents went through when they sent me off.. made me realize how much they love me (cue big cheesy "awwww")... and yes, it was depressing to try to figure out how to fit four escalades into gambrell circle, but such is life. at furman, at least.
two snap... one snap.... no snap.... SNAP SNAP
it's just like.. everyone here has a story. any place you throw 2400 students from all over the world, you're going to have diversity, no matter how hard everyone seems to be like everyone else. we're different. we're all a minority somehow. it was cool to see the class of 2011 come together.
phew. 2011 i'm getting old.
too tired to gush. gnite.
