the day i paid my parking ticket

phew. i got stuff done today. aka.. i paid the parking ticket i had been refusing to pay for .. hmm .. 6 months. cory told me they'd have a warrant out for me and i sort of believed him .. so i paid it. even though i don't really believe the warrant thing. i almost called to ask greenville county if the ticket was still valid even though the car had blown up. i figured that would be a stretch.

cory started school today. big boy job. scary. he'll be incredible at it, though..

so got the ticket ordeal done... finished up my resume, finished up a little gift thing i'll post about later (sneaky eyes.. don't want to blow my cover), mailed off my tuition check, found an opening in a class i had wanted to take, finished my laundry, talked to the lady at the SC Autism Society about working there in the fall...

it's been a productive day.

i'm ready to get back to school, though.. ready to get in a more push-to-shove routine. i miss the hands-on world. but i'm prepping for it, i suppose. i'm babysitting tomorrow. at 7:30 am. that will get me out of bed before noon, for sure.

i seriously hate sleeping in, but my body is in recoup-mode from camp... i think? maybe i'll do daily mass for the rest of the summer. having a car would help, i suppose. i just feel.. sluggish.

i hate feeling sluggish.

it's just.. too hot to run, and i've got too many little things to get done. i move in ... 15 days. watermelon is helping me count down. he called quite a few times this evening.

monday and friday, watermelon. monday and friday...

i want him to get a job. so badly. he could do it, i know he could.

i should probably focus on getting myself a job first, though. this sc autism society gig sounds awesome.. they're starting an office in greenville and need someone to answer phones. eventually if things go well, the lady said i may get to go do behavioral observations. it's advocacy work, which is what i want to start studying a bit. i just can't figure out what i want to do with my life.

a slot opened in the intro to counseling class today, and i snagged it... even though i had decided i wasn't going to take that class. it's just... i don't know if i could go for my phd and be in school for 9 more years. but it would be so... increddible. to just work with teens with developmental disabilities. and talking to the lady today.. she mentioned how the scas work is social-work oriented. i could do it with a bachelors in psych. maybe this position would help me discern if i want to go further with my education. if nothing else, it sounds like an incredible experience.

a lot to think about.

i've been researching a ton of programs too.. i'm really considering designing my own major. one of the special ed prof's at furman actually suggested it.. i'll be doing a BS in psychology with a special ed component and a public health component. modeling it after the public health and human development certifications at duke. or something like it. just to show that i'm consciously studying these things, linking them together into this vague concentration in my head. or maybe it's in my heart.

it's somewhere. i know what i'm working towards. it just doesn't have a name.

someone had to name pluto. right?
